The Sanctuary offers visitors a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about Florida’s wildlife and natural environments. This unique refuge combines a nature center with a wildlife hospital.
Nature trails lead visitors through pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, and cypress wetlands. Along the trails are wildlife habitats exhibiting a variety of native animals from eagles to panthers, crocodiles, foxes, snakes, bears, and more. (oh...my!)
Return back to the hotel and reminiscence about your 1st day of Hidden Adventures at the Complimentary Evening Reception. or enjoy a glass of wine at Verdea's Wine Bar. Enjoy some of the free snacks and then have dinner at Verdea Restaurant. Then its back to your two room suite to rest up for Day 2.
Day 2
Don't forget breakfast! Say good morning to the Royal Swans, Bach and Beethoven, as you head to your car. Today you're headed out to the John D. MacArthur State Park A unique mixture of coastal and tropical hammock and mangrove forest, this barrier island provides a haven for several rare or endangered native tropical and coastal plant species. The park's Nature Center shows visitors why the park is a biological treasure. Visitors can swim, picnic, and surf at the beach; scuba diving and snorkeling are also popular activities. Birdwatchers can see herons, brown pelicans, terns, sandpipers, and gulls. Anglers can fish in the lagoon by wading, kayaking, or canoeing. They can also fish from non-swimming areas of the beach.
After your Day at the Beach try a relaxing trip on the catamaran Mariah. Here's a great way to see the Palm Beaches from the water. There is something special about being under sail, blasting through the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Mariah is 28 feet wide and the perfect vessel to relax and see the Palm Beaches from the Oceanside. But for those days when the ocean is misbehaving and just too rough, they have a great sail on the smooth waters of the Lake Worth Lagoon.
After the Mariah returns you to port, head back to the Embassy Suites Palm Beach Gardens for their Complimentary Evening Reception. If its Wednesday, enjoy "Wine Wednesday" at Verdea. For dinner go to one of the many fine restaurants at the Gardens Mall.
